Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

1. Introduction

Artemis AI ("Artemis," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information responsibly, transparently, and securely.

Artemis provides an AI-powered security intelligence platform designed to enhance existing security and surveillance infrastructure. Our technology integrates with compatible camera and security systems to identify configured behaviors, events, objects, or patterns and provide relevant intelligence and alerts to authorized users.

This Privacy Policy explains how Artemis may collect, use, process, store, disclose, and protect personal information in connection with our:

  • websites and digital platforms;

  • products and services;

  • customer accounts;

  • demonstrations and inquiries;

  • integrations with third-party systems;

  • AI and behavioral intelligence technology;

  • security and surveillance deployments; and

  • other business operations.

This Privacy Policy is intended to apply globally. Additional rights or requirements may apply depending on where you live and where Artemis services are provided.

2. Our Role in Processing Information

Depending on how you interact with Artemis, we may process personal information in different capacities.

Artemis as Controller. Artemis generally acts as a data controller when we determine why and how personal information is processed. This may include information collected through our website, sales inquiries, demonstrations, customer administration, business communications, marketing activities, and our own business operations.

Artemis as Processor. When an organization deploys Artemis within its security or surveillance environment, that organization will generally determine why cameras are operated, which locations are monitored, what security events should be detected, who is authorized to access information, and how resulting information is used. In these circumstances, the customer generally acts as the data controller and Artemis acts as a data processor or service provider processing information on the customer's behalf and according to its instructions.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that their deployment and use of surveillance technologies complies with applicable privacy, surveillance, employment, security, and data protection laws.

3. Information We May Process

The information processed by Artemis depends on how our technology and services are used.

Website and Contact Information. Name; email address; telephone number; organization or company; job title; information submitted through contact forms; demonstration requests; correspondence with Artemis; and other information voluntarily provided to us.

Customer and Account Information. Names and business contact details; organization information; account identifiers; user roles and permissions; authentication information; alert preferences; system activity; support communications; and audit and security logs.

Technical Information. IP address; device information; browser type; operating system; approximate location derived from technical information; log information; website interactions; pages viewed; cookies; and analytics information.

Video, Image, and Surveillance Data. When Artemis is deployed within a customer's security environment, our technology may process video feeds, images, footage, or related information supplied through the customer's existing camera or surveillance infrastructure. Depending on the environment, this information may include images of individuals, vehicles, animals, objects, locations, movements, and activities. Artemis is designed to work with compatible existing security and camera infrastructure and does not necessarily require customers to replace their existing systems.

Behavioral and Event Data. Artemis technology may analyze visual information to identify configured behaviors, objects, events, patterns, or conditions relevant to a customer's security requirements, including movement within defined areas, entry into restricted or monitored areas, unusual or predefined behaviors, security-related events, interactions between individuals, vehicles, animals, or objects, events requiring human attention, and other customer-configured conditions.

Artemis does not perform facial recognition and does not generate biometric identifiers for the purpose of identifying, verifying, or naming specific individuals. Our analysis is directed at behaviors, objects, and events, not at determining or confirming a person's identity. If this changes in a future version of the product, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly before that capability is deployed.

The specific capabilities used depend on the customer's deployment and configuration.

4. Artificial Intelligence, Automated Analysis, and Human Oversight

Artemis uses artificial intelligence, computer vision, and related technologies to analyze information from security and surveillance environments. The purpose of this technology is to help authorized users identify potentially relevant events efficiently and proactively.

Our systems may generate detections, alerts, classifications, event information, behavioral indicators, and other security-related intelligence.

AI-generated outputs are intended to support — not replace — human decision-making. An Artemis alert or detection should not, by itself, be interpreted as definitive proof of wrongdoing, criminal activity, intent, identity, or liability. Artemis outputs are designed to be reviewed by an authorized human user before any consequential action is taken, and we do not design the platform to make final security, employment, or legal decisions on its own.

Where required by applicable law — including laws governing high-risk or biometric-adjacent AI systems — decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects should not be made solely on the basis of automated Artemis outputs without appropriate human review. Artemis works with customers to support their own obligations under applicable AI governance laws in the jurisdictions where they operate.

5. How We Use Information

Depending on the context, Artemis may process information to: provide and operate our products and services; perform AI-assisted security and behavioral analysis; identify configured events or conditions; generate alerts and notifications; provide authorized users with security intelligence; integrate with existing security infrastructure; administer customer accounts; authenticate users; provide technical support; maintain platform reliability and security; investigate technical problems; prevent unauthorized access, fraud, or misuse; communicate with customers and prospective customers; respond to inquiries and demonstration requests; improve our technology and services; develop and test system functionality; comply with contractual obligations; protect our legal rights; comply with applicable laws; and conduct legitimate business operations.

Where information is used for research, testing, system development, or model improvement, Artemis will use appropriate safeguards and, where reasonably practicable, de-identify, anonymize, aggregate, or otherwise protect the information.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on one or more appropriate grounds, which may include: consent; performance of a contract; taking steps requested before entering into a contract; compliance with legal obligations; protection of vital interests; legitimate business or security interests; establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims; or processing performed on behalf of a customer under a valid agreement. The applicable basis will depend on the context and jurisdiction.

7. Customer Responsibilities

Organizations using Artemis are responsible for ensuring that their surveillance activities and use of Artemis are lawful. Depending on the jurisdiction and deployment, customers may be responsible for: establishing a lawful basis for surveillance; providing appropriate CCTV or surveillance notices; obtaining required consent where applicable; determining appropriate camera placement; establishing appropriate retention periods; managing access permissions; responding to privacy requests; complying with workplace monitoring requirements; obtaining required governmental or regulatory authorizations; ensuring surveillance is proportionate to legitimate security requirements; and meeting any obligations that apply to them as a deployer of AI systems under applicable law.

Artemis does not authorize customers to use our technology unlawfully or in a manner that violates applicable privacy, civil rights, surveillance, or data protection laws.

8. How We Share Information

Artemis does not sell personal information. We may share information with: the customer responsible for the relevant deployment; users authorized by that customer; authorized Artemis personnel; cloud and hosting providers; infrastructure and technology providers; communications providers; professional advisers; security and technical service providers; integration partners where necessary to provide our services; government or regulatory authorities where legally required; law enforcement where disclosure is legally authorized; and parties involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or similar corporate transaction.

Service providers processing personal information on our behalf are expected to handle information according to applicable contractual, confidentiality, security, and legal requirements.

9. We Do Not Sell Personal Information

Artemis does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We also do not use surveillance footage processed on behalf of our customers for third-party advertising, and we do not use it to train models for purposes unrelated to providing and improving Artemis's own security intelligence capabilities. Where applicable privacy laws provide rights relating to the sale, sharing, or use of personal information for targeted advertising, Artemis will honor those rights as required by law.

10. Data Security

Security is fundamental to the Artemis platform. We use reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, destruction, and unlawful processing. Depending on the service and deployment, safeguards may include authentication, encryption, access controls, logging, role-based permissions, infrastructure protections, and other security measures.

No digital system or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We continually evaluate security risks and seek to improve our safeguards as technologies and threats evolve.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or as otherwise permitted or required by law. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, customer instructions, contractual requirements, system configuration, security requirements, legal requirements, and the purpose for which the information was processed.

Where Artemis processes surveillance information on behalf of a customer, retention is determined by the customer's instructions, configuration, and contractual arrangements with Artemis — customers set and control the retention window for their own footage and event data. Website, account, and business-contact information not tied to a customer deployment is generally retained for the duration of the business relationship plus a limited period afterward to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs.

When information is no longer required, it may be securely deleted, destroyed, anonymized, or de-identified.

12. International Data Transfers

Artemis operates internationally and may use service providers or infrastructure located in different countries. Personal information may therefore be transferred to or processed in countries other than the country in which it was originally collected.

Where required by applicable law, Artemis implements appropriate safeguards for these transfers, which may include standard contractual clauses approved by relevant regulators, reliance on an applicable adequacy decision, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms available in the relevant jurisdiction.

13. Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure our website, understand website usage, remember preferences, measure performance, and improve our services. Where required by applicable law, visitors will be provided with appropriate choices regarding non-essential cookies. Users may also control cookies through their browser settings.

14. Marketing Communications

Where permitted by applicable law, Artemis may send communications about our products, services, events, technology, and related information. You may unsubscribe using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in the communication or by contacting us. We may continue sending essential account, security, transactional, or service-related communications where necessary.

15. Your Privacy Rights

Privacy rights vary depending on where you live. Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to: know whether we process your personal information; access personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of certain personal information; request restriction of certain processing; object to certain processing; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; request portability of certain information; opt out of certain targeted advertising or data-sharing activities; request information about categories of information collected and disclosed; appeal certain decisions regarding privacy requests; and raise concerns regarding certain automated decision-making.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against individuals for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Where Artemis processes information solely on behalf of a customer, privacy requests relating to a particular surveillance environment may need to be submitted directly to the organization operating that environment, as they control that data.

16. United States Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under applicable state privacy laws. Depending on the jurisdiction and circumstances, these rights may include requests to: access personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; delete personal information; obtain a portable copy of certain information; obtain information regarding categories of information processed or disclosed; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; opt out of certain targeted advertising; opt out of certain profiling or automated processing; and appeal a decision relating to a privacy request.

You may submit a request by emailing us at the address in Section 22, and we will verify your identity before responding. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf where permitted by law. Artemis will respond to valid requests as required by applicable law.

17. European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the rights described in Section 15 under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent UK/Swiss law, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. Where Artemis processes personal information as a controller under this section, contact details for exercising these rights are provided in Section 22.

18. Children's Privacy

Artemis products and services are not directed toward children. However, cameras operating in environments where Artemis is deployed may incidentally capture images of minors. Customers operating those environments are responsible for ensuring that surveillance involving minors complies with applicable law. Where Artemis processes such information on behalf of a customer, we do so according to our contractual obligations and applicable law.

19. Law Enforcement and Security

Artemis technology may be deployed by or in collaboration with organizations involved in security, public safety, conservation, law enforcement, or the protection of people, property, wildlife, and infrastructure. Personal information will only be disclosed to law enforcement, governmental authorities, or similar organizations where authorized by the relevant customer, legally required, or otherwise permitted under applicable law. Artemis does not provide unrestricted third-party access to customer surveillance environments.

20. Third-Party Services and Integrations

Artemis may integrate with third-party camera systems, security platforms, communication services, infrastructure providers, or other technologies. Third parties that independently determine how and why they process personal information are responsible for their own privacy practices. We encourage users to review the privacy practices of relevant third-party services.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to our technology, services, operations, or legal requirements. The latest version will be published on our website together with the date it was last updated. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
